Norwich FarmShare:
Terms and Conditions for Volunteers

A ‘volunteer’ is a person who commits time and energy for your benefit and who does so freely through personal choice, without expectation of financial reward except for the reimbursement of actual out of pocket expenses.

The volunteering arrangement can be cancelled at any time by either party, no legally binding contract is in place.

Volunteers are covered by the Norwich Farmshare liability and personal accident insurance policy. Please obtain additional cover if necessary.

We (Norwich Farmshare) aim to ensure that volunteers clearly understand their role and are provided with basic health and safety instructions. Volunteers are responsible for telling Norwich Farmshare representative of any medical details that are relevant to the safe working of the team on site.

Volunteers with medical conditions are responsible for bringing their own medication to the site for all volunteering events.

Volunteer contact details will be held securely on Norwich Farmshare databases in order to communicate events and future working days.

Volunteers must respect the need for confidentiality and maintain confidentiality at all times.

It is important that volunteers understand their personal responsibilities towards their own health and safety and that of others around you. All volunteers must complete basic Health & Safety briefing given by the Grower or Grower Representative before starting as a volunteer.

For volunteering roles you will need to be 16 or over and if you are under 18 we will request consent of your parents / guardian before you can volunteer. Children under the age of 16 are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for the child and their health and safety at all times.

If volunteers do something that threatens the safety of others we will ask them to stop volunteering immediately.

Volunteers will respect and follow Farmshare Code of Conduct.
